Multilingual SEO Services

On-Page Optimization

The on-page optimization for multilingual SEO contains hreflang tags, language-specific URL structure, sitemaps, and meta tags. In addition, the server location and domain zone need to align with target regions. The fast website load speed from different locations is also important in multiregional projects.

Keyword Research

The keyword research for multilingual SEO should be language- and region-specific. I utilize specialized SEO tools which help to explore keywords in various languages and locations. When I don't speak the language myself, I use local competitor websites to identify the relevant keywords with decent search volumes.

Content Translation

The professional translation of the website content in multiple languages is the key to success in multilingual SEO. Being an expert in the field, I use both manual or automated translation paired with manual proofreading. This ensures the translations deliver the message, are accurate, culturally appropriate, and SEO-optimized.

E-E-A-T and Backlinks

Experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E-E-A-T) is critical in SEO. Not only the content needs to be translated, but it also needs to be relevant and valuable across different regions. One of the key differentiators of my service is the ability to influence E-E-A-T by building multilingual backlinks from reputable local websites to boost authority in each location.

Social Media and Press-Releases

The usage of local social media platforms and press-release distributions in the local media can significantly improve regional SEO visibility by generating valuable local mentions and, sometimes, backlinks. These strategies help build a strong local brand presence influencing local search rankings in specific regions.

Training for in-house teams

My training of the in-house digital marketing teams on multilingual SEO involves translation vs localization of the content, on-page and off-page SEO for multiregional website, best practices for conducting localized keyword research, and using rank tracking tools to monitor and optimize performance in different regions.

You are growing in Australia. Multilingual SEO needs local control.

Many Australian businesses expand into multiple languages because their customers already speak them. That is normal. The problem starts when multilingual SEO is treated as translation work or handed off without understanding how Google handles language, location, and intent in Australia. That leads to weak rankings, duplicated pages, and traffic that does not convert.

Multilingual SEO is not about translating English pages into another language. It is about structuring your site so Google understands which language and market each page serves. It is also about matching how multilingual users in Australia actually search. Rankings, qualified traffic, and enquiries are the only metrics that matter.

I focus on the parts that drive results for Australian and APAC-facing sites.
1. Clean technical setup that supports multiple languages and regions.
2. Keyword and intent research based on how users search in Australia, not global averages.
3. Content localisation that preserves meaning and commercial intent, not literal translation.
4. Correct hreflang and site structure to avoid cannibalisation and indexation issues.
5. Tracking that shows which languages bring real leads, not just visits.

You focus on running the business. I manage the multilingual SEO system that brings demand from Australia and beyond.

Why is multilingual SEO important for businesses?

SEO services in the company's primary local language are a necessity for any website that wants to gain traffic, leads, or orders. Multilingual SEO, on the other hand, expands regular SEO efforts to new geographical regions and opens new markets for accelerated growth. In addition, such SEO ensures a better user experience, especially in Australia, where 23% of the population speak another language, with Mandarin, Arabic, Vietnamese, Cantonese, and Italian being top five. Having your website in these languages provides a competitive advantage and improves your conversion rate for various multicultural audiences.

The cost of multilingual SEO

Each multilingual SEO project is unique, and the pricing depends on several factors. The scope of regions you want to target, the number of languages involved and the level of competition determine the end pricing package.

The smallest prices for my SEO packages start at AUD 2,000 - 3,000 per month (excl. GST), while multiregional engagements with several languages support and competitors with high authority range from AUD 4,000 - 6,000 per month (excl. GST).

All these prices are solely for my consulting efforts. In addition to consulting fees above, there may be direct costs such as translation tools, copywriting and web development services, press-release distribution tools like Newswire.com and regional linkbuilding costs. SEO software subscriptions (rank tracking, keyword research tools, analytics) are included in the consulting price.

The advantages of multilingual SEO

Aside from the apparent advantages of SEO as a whole, multilingual SEO can provide custom benefits to its adopters, including:

  • More organic traffic is due to many searches being performed using the local language (even in industries where English is dominant).
  • Cheaper traffic since many of the non-English keywords are less competitive and require less financial investment when compared with the English ones.
  • The ability to reach global audiences by converting your content into different languages can be a good start for expanding your business globally.
  • Better user experience, made possible by the fact that such SEO adopts the website’s content for multiple languages, improving the end-user experience for users that do not speak the primary language of the business itself.

Why hire a multilingual SEO expert instead of a marketing agency?

Hiring an agency instead of a single expert for a multiregional project might seem logical. However, there are plenty of examples when hiring a multilingual SEO expert is more cost-effective and better for the numerical results.

For example, building a long-term partnership with an expert is much easier than creating an agency since the agency’s staff members come and go regularly. However, a single expert is more capable of digging into the client’s business and providing a more customized attitude to the project.

Additionally, communicating your requirements directly to an expert eliminates the possibility of miscommunication.

It is also not uncommon for individual SEO experts to be more up-to-date with recent industry news and marketing methods since some agencies offer a general feature set that might not frequently require proactive evolution and improvement.

Lastly, hiring an individual expert is often more cost-effective than hiring an entire agency.

Multilingual SEO FAQ

What metrics demonstrate the client's success in multilingual SEO?

My multilingual SEO services include using various tools and metrics to demonstrate the efficiency and results of my work. Some of the metrics I report monthly and monitor during the project include local Google rankings and the organic traffic broken down by country.

How is multilingual SEO performed?

Multilingual SEO is far more than just translating the existing website content into another language. It also includes elements such as:

  • On-page technical SEO (hreflangs, local sitemaps, URL slugs, localized metadata, etc.);
  • Local domain name and website language structure;
  • Language-specific keyword research;
  • Region-specific backlink generation strategy;
  • Mentions in local press releases and local reviews.

What is the difference between multilingual SEO and traditional SEO?

The most significant difference between the two is that traditional SEO usually operates within a single language and, more often than not, a single country or region as a target audience. Multilingual SEO projects, on the other hand, can contain several website content languages and several locations where rankings are tracked depending on the project objectives.

What is the difference between translated and localized content?

My multilingual SEO services offer content localization capabilities instead of just translating the same content and leaving it at that. Generally speaking, localization is much more extensive and detailed than translation. The latter is a direct conversion of the text from one language to another, while the former is a comprehensive effort that includes not only translation but also keyword research, search intent verification, aligning with cultural aspects, and others.

What tools do you use for multilingual SEO?

I use Semrush, Mangools, and Screaming Frog for the SEO itself. In addition, Google Analytics and Google Search Console are used for reporting and analysis, while DeepL is used for ensuring the quality of translations when I don’t speak the language.

How long does it take to see results from multilingual SEO?

It is difficult to say how long it would take for a website to achieve the first meaningful results, also depending what the client means with the word "meaningful". In my case, I usually see the first movements in rankings for keywords in 3-4 weeks from the project start.

Can you work with my existing website, or do I need to build a new one?

The situations where I might recommend creating a new website for my client are very rare. Most of these situations have resulted from a thorough audit that has shown website CMS limitations, website structure issues, or any other technical issue that prevents the website to index normally. These situations are the minority, though. The overwhelming majority of my clients keep their existing websites, and I am completely fine when it comes to working with the existing web resources.

Why would a company need to invest in multilingual SEO agencies instead of building their own team in-house?

SEO agencies and experts are typically more cost-effective than an in-house SEO department. Sometimes they can show results in a shorter timeframe compared with hiring, onboarding, and training an entirely new in-house team from scratch. Moreover, it is expensive to maintain several team members for each language, while contractors can handle these expenses by themselves or can master several languages in a single person simultaneously.
