It is not part of the consulting fee and is for the direct subsidizing of the operations of the ad platforms that you use for your campaigns. This implies that advertising costs are sensitive and vary in instants, such as competition, keywords, regions, and languages, among others.

Do you have pay-per-result or pay-for-performance pricing models?

Sometimes I offer my services as pay-per-result to specific industries or clients. In this payment model, a portion of my fees is contingent upon the performance of your campaigns. The other option is to make payments based on the number of leads you want or even the number of orders you wish to make. In this manner, there is an understanding that one pays only for the result, which is relatively easy to quantify; thus, motivation is aligned with the business goals.

Which metrics do you use to measure the success & ROI of SEM campaigns?

Many different metrics can be used to evaluate the performance and ROI of a SEM campaign. Some of the most common metrics, or Key Performance Indicators, are:
● CTR – Click-through rate
● CPC – Cost per click
● CPA – Cost per acquisition
● Conversion rate
● ROAS – Return on ad spend
● ROI – Return on investment
All of my clients receive regular detailed reports with all these metrics, as well as recommendations on how to improve them.

How long does it take to see results from SEM?

Unlike SEO, SEM can offer results in a very short time span, boosting traffic and visibility as a result. However, it is highly recommended to optimize the marketing campaign as time goes on to ensure the best possible performance in the long run, which is why I typically spend about 2-3 months on these campaigns to develop negative search terms, improve ad copy, enhance targeting, and so on. I should also note that I always turn on automated bidding strategies after reaching the first 15 conversions to boost the results of a marketing campaign even more.

Can you work with my existing SEM campaigns, or do we need to start from scratch?

Both options are viable to me. If you need your existing campaign to work better, I can perform a thorough SEM audit to see what can be improved upon. If you do not have any marketing campaign running, I can still work in that situation, developing a comprehensive strategy that keeps all of your business objectives in mind. I do believe that it is better to work within advertising accounts that already have some history, even if the history in question is not completely successful, but starting from scratch is also an option, if necessary.

How do you stay updated with the latest SEM trends?

My commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest trends and news in this field is unwavering. I spend plenty of time attending conferences, participating in webinars, renewing Google Ads certifications, and being active in professional communities. Additionally, I follow all of the major SEM platforms to make sure that I won’t miss any major announcements so that all of my marketing strategies remain relevant and effective at all times.

Why would a company need to invest in a freelance SEM consultant instead of building SEM team in-house?

The short answer is that building an in-house SEM team is significantly more expensive than hiring an experienced freelance consultant like me, and the time investment for creating an in-house team is also quite massive. Meanwhile, I can offer over 19+ years of experience in different tech marketing fields without the burden of training costs and full-time salaries. I always follow all of the newest SEM trends, and my vast knowledge of the subject allows me to find plenty of opportunities in different fields, something that a relatively fresh marketing team might miss altogether. There is also the fact that most of my strategies offer CPL that is several times lower than the industry average, which offers drastic improvements in a short time period, avoiding any testing and learning curves that an in-house team might experience at first.

How closely do you work with clients during the SEM process?

It is my belief that close collaboration with the client is a better approach than artificial boundaries in terms of contacts and communication. A client receives both monthly reports and regular strategy updates, and I am also always ready to address concerns, discuss strategies, or answer questions about specific topics within my area of expertise.

What kind of standard contract terms do you offer?

My primary goal is to show results that warrant the price of the SEM contract instead of using questionable contractual obligations. I can offer a relatively simple month-to-month contract without any vendor lock-in or a long-term commitment. If you feel like my work is not contributing to your success – you are free to stop our partnership as soon as the current monthly contract is complete. You have complete control over your ad accounts in that case, as well. My goal is to build long-term customer relationships by showing consistency in terms of value and performance, and contractual constraints rarely fit in that mindset.

What will be included in your monthly reporting?

Each of my monthly reports is supposed to offer an overview of your SEM performance that is both comprehensive and relatively simple when it comes to its understanding. I use several KPIs in all of my reports, be it CTR, CPC, clicks, impressions, conversion rates, CPA, and more. I can also offer detailed breakdowns for each marketing campaign and its performance, when necessary, to showcase which campaign offers the most significant result of them all. Other essential parameters in my report are trend analysis (to track progress over time), areas for further improvement, key wins, and general recommendations for the next month. Of course, the format of this report and the metrics included in it can be customized if the client wants me to do so.

What certifications should a expert SEM specialist have?

An expert-level SEM consultant should hold core Google Ads certifications across Search, Display, Video, Shopping, and Measurement, as well as Microsoft Advertising certifications that validate their ability to run multi-platform search campaigns. It’s also valuable if they have Google Analytics or GA4 certifications, since tracking, attribution, and conversion modeling are central to SEM performance.
