PPC Audit
A deep-dive analysis that aims to identify inefficiencies, wasted ad spend, and missed opportunities in a pre-existing advertising account. As a consultant, I make sure to check all campaign structures, bid strategies, audience targeting, ad creatives, and other account elements. My goal is to find out whether they comply with PPC best practices and business objectives. I analyze keyword performance, identifying keywords that are simply not converting and should be paused and calling out high-converting keywords that require more budget. I also analyze negative keyword lists to ensure that ad dollars aren't being wasted on searches that aren't relevant, as well as campaign settings (geo-targeting, device bidding, audience segmentation) to confirm that ads are reaching the right people at the right time. PPC Competitive Analysis
Conducting a competitive PPC analysis is how businesses get the edge over contestants by discovering what they are doing (or not doing) in their paid advertising campaigns. I use the ad placements, keywords, and creatives of competitors in comprehensive analysis methodology to find the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. I can review which competitors are monopolizing ad space, their estimated spending, and the messaging they implement to capture customers, using tools such as Google Auction Insights, SEMrush, and SpyFu. Sometimes I can even reverse-engineer their conversion rates (as discussed in my competitor analysis blog post). This information allows businesses to tailor their strategy, enabling them to outbid, outposition, or significantly differentiate their campaigns. In addition to standard analysis, I study competitor landing pages and calls to action to understand what resonates with the market. Insights gleaned from this competitive audit will generate new strategies to deploy in the campaign that can adjust offers, articulate new messaging, or shift budgets toward higher return opportunities.
PPC Conversion Rate Optimization
PPC funnel and landing page optimization ensure that every ad click leads to a high-converting experience, maximizing return on ad spend. Here, a good PPC consultant evaluates the entire customer journey—from the moment a user sees an ad to the final conversion—to identify bottlenecks that may be causing drop-offs. This involves analyzing landing page design, messaging, loading speed, mobile responsiveness, and call-to-action clarity to improve user engagement and conversion rates. Typically, the consultant maps out a structured PPC funnel, tailoring ad messaging and targeting based on audience intent. This includes defining retargeting strategies to nurture abandoned visitors, adjusting ad creatives for different stages of the buying cycle, and ensuring ad relevance matches the landing page experience.
Budget Allocation & Bidding Advice
If you have a specific goal in mind, for example, generating 1000 leads in six months, a PPC consultant will create a budget that will enable the business to achieve this goal. They will also determine if manual or automated bidding is the most effective strategy for this particular case. The consultant may suggest an automated strategy (e.g. Target CPA, Target ROAS, or Maximize Conversions) depending on campaign metrics. Additionally, consultants can suggest portfolio bidding strategies that automatically distribute the overall budget across campaigns in the best possible manner.

PPC workshops are tailored to strengthen the capabilities of in-house marketing teams to learn how to better manage and optimize their very own PPC campaigns. As a PPC consultant, I adapt training sessions to the team’s skills, providing beginner and advanced workshops adjusted by the level of the team about the concrete means of advertising. Most beginner sessions will go over the basics of PPC management: campaign setup, keyword research, bidding strategies, ad creative, and performance tracking are generally the focus. They do serve as a good source of information for the right decision-making between the C-level management. For more advanced teams, training can delve into automation tools, like Google Ads scripting or smart bidding strategies.
PPC Attribution & Tracking Setup
PPC attribution and tracking setup confirm that businesses are determining the effectiveness of their ad campaigns correctly based on reliable tracking and attribution data. Consultants implement and configure tools, such as GA4, GTM, and other third-party attribution tracking solutions. The consultant also works on figuring out things like attribution issues, meaning inconsistencies between the ad platforms and the reports from analytics tools for the same business, as well as cross-device and cross-channel tracking issues.
